[Trading Post Financial - PipStop] Learning By Doing by BKForex Advisor | PipStop: I continue to be a voracious reader of any news from Auckland to Zaire, but when it comes to financial literature I have simply become a lot more discriminate in my tastes. [A&S Online, University of Virginia] Question From the Dean: You Spoke - A&S Online: Finally, I should confess that my voracious reading of The New York Times throughout high school and college is the only possible explanation for my A in the survey course on economics that I took, particularly in macroeconomics. I disdained the instructor’s strong recommendation that students subscribe to The Wall Street Journal (which, not coincidently, he personally offered for sale), the one newspaper I did not read.

[The Macro Trader] The Macro Trader » 10 Things You Can Do To Improve Your Trading In ...: This is fairly self explanatory: Most of the best investors in the world are voracious readers.  They read about trading, security analysis, risk management, economics, general business, science, manufacturing, philosophy, math, etc.  Essentially they read about everything.  You would be surprised how many good trade ideas were born in a book or magazine that had almost no direct relationship to the idea itself.  Of course the other benefit is that you also get a lot of ideas that are directly related to a potential trade.  Continuing education is one of the best things that you can do to enhance your trading results. Research is just another name for continuing education.

[neo-neocon] neo-neocon » Blog Archive » My friends the liberals: betsybounds””Personality, education and experience certainly do come into play here, but as I think I have posted here in the past, it has more and more seemed to me that their profoundly differing beliefs as to the fundamental character of human nature is what is at the root of Liberal and Conservative philosophies and their usually diametrically opposed beliefs, positions and prescriptions for governing and ordering””or not–society.

[Opinionator» Happy Days] Coin of Praise - Opinionator Blog - NYTimes.com: It is an understandable misunderstanding of capitalism to declare that it is a materialism that consists of a voracious desire for things. [Asymmetric Religion and Philosophy] Conspiracy theory Zeitgeist bunk debunked: I think that anyone proclaming to have the real truth is a liar, there is no one that knows the real truth (they would have to be god) but it is up to us to question everything that is fed to us via mass media specially TV and INTERNET which by the way is the top BS! source on the planet, i mean anyone can just post anything claming to have a valid source and most of people will believe it without even doing any basic background check of any kind, and even if they do they would go and look it up on the net anyway.
